INFORMATION RECEIVED RECENTLY FROM Hampshire DAAT

VALIUM (or is it?)

“We are receiving reports of massive amounts of "valium" in the Winchester area. It is a white tablet in colour and has ‘valium’ written on them.?

Users have reported they are supposed to be 10mg in size but appear to be 3 times the strength of normal 10mg's available from doctors in the uk, therefore the risk of overdose is high.

It is suspected that they may also contain other substances (barbiturates?)

We think they may have come from India.

Please can you ask clients to be vigilant and to pass on this information to other drug using colleagues.”

If you have any further information please contact the Darlington Drug and Alcohol Action Team.

ECSTASY

We have received reports that there could be a strong or contaminated batch of ecstasy in the Hartlepool Area.

People who have used ecstasy this weekend have been hospitalised and one individual is believed to have died. The tablets are believed to be white and stamped with two cherries on stalks.
